A native of North Carolina, Jody attended the North Carolina School of the Arts, where he connected with Ben Best and Danny McBride. Years after graduation, the three reconnected to make The Foot Fist Way, Hill’s debut feature, produced using family mortgages and credit cards. Hill co-wrote, directed, produced, and performed in The Foot Fist Way, which premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. The film caught the attention of comedic masterminds, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, who championed the film’s release through their production company Gary Sanchez Productions. Hill’s second film Observe and Report, which he wrote and directed, starring Seth Rogan, Ray Liotta, Michael Pena and Anna Faris was released in 2009. The comedy tells the story of a turf war between local police and a self-important head of mall security. Jody has also broken into television with his comedy series East Bound and Down, starring Danny McBride as Kenny Powers. The show, which Jody Executive Produces, Writes, and Directs is will premiere its third and final season for HBO in February 2012.

Jody has also had great success as a commercial director while at Caviar, with 2010 proving to be a great year. He directed Toyota’s Swagger Wagon campaign for the brand’s new Toyota Sienna. The campaign included a parody music video for the car featuring “The Sienna Family,” which has received over 9 million hits on Youtube and has also won numerous awards, including a Gold Addy. Hill has also created two rounds of spots for KSWISS, in which Kenny Powers stars as the MFCEO of the company which has been collecting numerous awards – most notably Best in Show at the 2012 One Club Interactive Awards. Jody was also named as one of the Top 50 innovative people to watch in 2011 by Creativity Online and in the same year, Jody shot a Toyota Campaign with the Muppets and Terry Crews titled “No Room For Boring” which aired at the 2014 Superbowl. Most recently Jody has shot campaigns for Gatorade, TD Ameritrade and Dodge Dart’s “Don’t Touch My Dart Campaign” starring Jake Johnson and Craig Robsinson.
