Hugo Stenson
Hugo Stenson is a film Director and Photographer based out of London, UK. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, Stenson moved to Los Angeles to pursue a BFA in Film Directing with Distinction at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. During his time there, Stenson’s Apathy PSA “Stop Global Warming” was chosen by the UN to be displayed at the Lincoln Center in New York City. After graduating Valedictorian in 2009, Stenson went on to assist two very prominent Swedish Directors, Lasse Hallstrom and Fredrik Bond, where he gained valuable experience in both large international commercial work and film. In 2012, Stenson assisted on three feature films back to back, these titles include Lasse Hallstrom’s The Hypnotist, Fredrik Bond’s Charlie Countryman, and Terry Gillman’s The Zero Theorem. In 2013, Stenson’s own Directing career took off with the launch of his provocative campaign for Equinox gym titled “Equinox Made Me Do It” which he both shot and directed.
Since joining Caviar in March of 2014, Hugo has gone on to direct major campaigns for the likes of Sports Authority, WWE – featuring John Cena, Hulk Hogan, and Roman Reigns – and most recently for dating site Zoosk.
Stenson has also maintained an impressive side career as a stills photographer having shot several campaigns for Puma, Diet Coke, Carling, and Axe. In addition, he worked closely with Fredrik Bond on a Heineken Print and Commercial campaign that went on to win several awards at Cannes.
